UQAR Collaborator
UQAR
Université du Québec à Rimouski
In summary, this team draws its strength from its in-depth knowledge of the industrial sector and its current environmental and economic issues, as well as its solid expertise in business management and project management. Furthermore, its history of collaboration on other projects and its ability to surround itself with the most strategic resources enable it to achieve its objectives successfully. To realize this ambitious project in the field of advanced manufacturing, the group is partnering with the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). This collaboration is based on UQAR's key competencies, including:
- Research and development to design a new versatile, hybrid electric-diesel drilling platform, suitable for mining, oil, gas, and geothermal energy industries.
- Establishment of a training offer and accelerated technology transfer to regional, national, and international companies.
UQAR Researchers
Noureddine Barka
Full Professor (UQAR)
Design and manufacture of drill components and project coordination. Electromechanical engineer by training, Professor Barka works on five major areas related to surface hardening (induction and laser) applied to power components. His specific expertise in mechanical engineering (optimization of welding and surface heat treatment processes; robotics and automation; design of electromechanical systems; finite element analysis; mechanical performance testing) is utilized in this collaboration.
Sasan Sattarpanah Karganroudi
Associate Professor (UQAR)
Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from UQAC CAD/CAM and automated inspection. Electrical engineer by training, Professor Karganroudi will be particularly involved in the intelligent inspection phase of the project's welded components. His expertise in the fields of geometric metrology and tolerancing, his experience in design, manufacturing, mechanical stress analysis, and planning and supervising the installation of mechanical equipment have been utilized in this collaboration.
Maxime Berger
Assistant Professor (UQAR)
Professor Berger, an expert in electrical engineering, focuses on the simulation, analysis, and integration of power electrical systems. He gained almost nine years of experience at Bombardier Transport, where he was a recognized expert in the integration of auxiliary power supply systems. He has extensive expertise in the production, distribution, storage, conversion, and use of electrical energy. His contribution to the project is crucial to support design, modeling, simulation, integration, and testing of electrical systems.
